As the field of epigenetics constantly evolving, we are doing our part to broaden the clinical application of epigenetic methylation testing in clinical application. We have widespread partnership with private clinics to help physicians objectively evaluating interventions of aging.

We currently partner with private companies, and academic research institutes to create new and more accurate predictive algorithms of disease (inclusive of mitotic clock, immune system impact on aging, obesity and diabetes risk score), and to find better molecular predictors of clinical outcome, medication response and more.

Development of predictive algorithms focusing on Asia population will be great benefit to aging Asia population.

What is Epigenetics And DNA Methylation

Epigenetics refers to heritable changes in gene expression without changing the DNA sequence. Epigenetics serve as a switch that control gene expression.

DNA methylation is an epigenetic mechanism involving the transfer of a methyl group onto the C5 position of the cytosine to form 5-methylcytosine.

Methylation and demethylation happens constantly throughout your life in response to external stimuli such as nutrition, stress, physical activities, alcohol consumption and etc. Once methylation is in place, RNA polymerase will skip this during transcription. This allows methylation to alter level of protein expression coded by DNA sequence and hence affecting overall body function. 

Various peer-reviewed publications showed aging is associated with changes in gene expressions and analyzing pattern of DNA methylation is useful to track aging. At InvitroU, we analyze about 900,000 methylation sites on DNA, also termed CpG sites or CpG loci. Data is run through the algorithm to generate value for Biological Age
